About Gavin

Gavin Leahy (he/him) is a kind hearted and motivated triple threat performer originally from Glenview, Illinois. After training in a musical theater conservatory during high school and attending Interlochen Arts Camp for six years, Gavin moved to Los Angeles to study at UCLA. He will be graduating with a major in Musical Theatre and a minor in European Languages + Transcultural Studies. At UCLA he has performed multiple mainstage productions: Something Rotten! (Nigel Bottom), Sweet Charity (Barney/Ensemble) as well as the premiere of the O'Neill National Playwrights Conference Finalist Tell Me I'm Gorgeous… (Braden). Other credits include The Music Man (Jacey Squires), 9 to 5 (Tinsworthy u/s Joe) and Sunday in the Park… (Louis) at Interlochen. In 2020, Gavin was recognized with the 'Best Actor' award at the Illinois High School Musical Theater Awards, hosted by Broadway in Chicago.
Outside of theater, Gavin is a huge nerd for all things French. During his time in college, he studied as an international student in Lyon, France at Université Lumière Lyon II, where he has grown fluent in the French language. While abroad, he was able to travel to numerous different cultural hubs furthering his passion for creativity and the arts. In addition to international exploration, Gavin found a passion for a cappella music in college, where he was a part of Awaken A Cappella, southern California's first co-ed a cappella group. During his senior year, Gavin served as president of the group, where they performed around the Los Angeles area and California.  He is also a major bookworm, and you can probably find him with his nose in a good classic.
